A few years ago, the company where I worked had to shut down and I began to search for a new job. I sent countless emails, completed several applications and did a few interviews. I even tried to use some of my ‘connections’. Yet, the feedback was not encouraging at all. I wondered what I was doing wrong.

For nine months, I kept trying. I kept developing my skills and qualifications. I also kept praying (very important). Then, one day I got a message from the CEO of a popular company in Lusaka and he offered me a nice package with assurance of an increment if I proved my mettle. I was so relieved! But that’s not the sweet part.

On the Monday I resumed, FOUR of the companies I previously applied to, called/emailed to ask if I was still interested in the position! Between Tuesday and Friday that same week, I got THREE more calls/emails! That was the first time I had the luxury of sending a rejection email to a recruiter, having been on the receiving end for so long.😁

Be encouraged, my friend. Yes, I know you have bills to pay and mouths to feed. I know you’re defaulting on your loans because you lost your job. Yet, I say DON’T GIVE UP! The night is darkest just before dawn. You are closer to a new job today than you were yesterday. BE ENCOURAGED!
